Steve Jobs
One of the most respected names in the world of information technology is Steve
Jobs. An American business magnate and inventor, Jobs is the co-founder and chief
executive officer of Apple Inc. He has also founded another computer company, NeXT
Computer. Steve as a person and businessman is very aggressive and demanding and
with this kind of nature he has been able to take Apple to the level where it is

Born in San Francisco, California (February 24, 1955), Jobs attended Cupertino Junior
High School and Homestead High School in Cupertino, California and frequented after-school
lectures at the Hewlett-Packard Company in Palo Alto, California. He was soon hired
there and worked with Steve Wozniak as a summer employee. In 1972, Jobs graduated
from high school and enrolled in Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
Steve Jobs co-founded Apple Inc in 1976. It was co-founded by Steve Jobs and Steve
Wozniak who is credited with initiating the entry of computers into private homes
and he also wrote most of the software that Apple ran. Apple is leading the consumer
technology world with its revolutionary iPhone and App Store, its family of iPod
media players and iTunes media store, Mac computers and iLife and iWork application
suites. Apple recently introduced the iPad, a breakthrough Internet and digital
media device, plus the iBookstore.
Like the Apple, the NeXT workstation was technologically advanced. The NeXT workstation
garnered a strong following because of its technical strengths; chief among them
is its object-oriented software development system. Jobs marketed NeXT products
to the scientific and academic fields because of the innovative, experimental new
technologies it incorporated.
In 1986, Steve bought the Graphic Group (later named Pixer) and co-founded and became
the CEO of Pixar Animation Studios. The new company,
which was originally intended to be a high-end graphics hardware developer. Pixar
merged with The Walt Disney Company in 2006 and Steve now serves on Disney's board
of directors. Pixer in collaboration with Walt Disney Company created some of the
most successful and beloved animated films of all time including Toy Story, A Bug's
Life, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredible, Cars and Ratatouille.
