Assam JAT Medical Entrance Exam 2012 - Overview:
Assam Joint Admission Test is conducted by the
Director of Technical Education, Assam. It is conducted for the candidates who aspire
to take admission into the various medical college, regional dental college and
Ayurvedic College in the state of Assam and NIT (Assam state quota) are also selected
through Assam JAT 2012 medical exam.
Every year the time and venue of the entrance is notified by the Director of Technical
Education in Assam Gazette and other newspapers as well. Generally, Assam JAT 2012
entrance exam is held in the month of May every year which is liable to changes.
Courses Offered:
The entrance test is conducted for the following courses:
Eligibility:
- The student must meet the following eligibility criteria before submission of his/her
application form. The candidates who are not meeting the eligibility criteria are
not allowed to take admission in the respective college or institutes under Assam
JAT.
- The student must be minimum 17 years of age and must be a native of the state of
Assam.
- The aspirant must be cleared in Higher Secondary Certificate Exam of the Assam Higher
Secondary Education Council or equivalent to it from any recognized University.
- The qualifying exam must be passed by the student with minimum of 50% marks (45%
in case of SC and 40% in case of ST) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics in the first attempt.
- The student, who are applying for B.Tech program through
Assam JAT 2012 entrance exam, should attain to a minimum of 21 years of age
(3 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates) and below 17 years of age.

In the Assam JAT 2012 entrance exam there is no provision of negative marking.
Reservation of Seats:
85% seats for State Candidates(Including SC 7%, ST 15% (Plains 10% Hills 5%) & OBC
15% All India quota/NGOI- 15 seats & 13 seats (Meghalya-10 , Arunachal Pradesh -1,
Nagaland -1, Mizoram-1).
