All India Engineering Entrance Test
AIEEE (All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination)
AIEEE 2012 entrance examination is the all India
level entrance exam organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
and Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development
(MHRD) in compliance with the directives of the Government of India (GOI).
Mode of Examination: There are two mode of examination.
- Online Examination (Computer Based Test)
- Offline Examination (Pen & Paper mode) as conducted earlier

Introduced in the year 2002, this national level competitive test is for candidates
seeking admission to Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Pharmacy degree courses
in:
And different Engineering colleges and Institutes in India accepting the AIEEE score.
A centralized counseling system is provided for filling up the available seats all
over India.
Note: This counseling is available only for the candidates
who stand in merit of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). Candidates
are ranked on an all India basis and also according to their position in state.
Thus, they have an All India Rank (AIR) and a state rank (SR).
AIEEE Eligibility Criteria:
The minimum academic qualification for appearing in AIEEE 2012 Entrance Exam is
that the candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or
its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination (see Appendix IX) with
50% marks for general category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC/PH category
candidates. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination
may also appear in All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Exam (AIEEE) 2012
provisionally.
How to apply?
Online Submission of Application Form:
In order to apply online for AIEEE 2012 Entrance Exam, the submission of particulars
may be made at website
www.aieee.nic.in. The candidates should supply all the required details
while filling up the online AIEEE application form. On submission of details, a
Confirmation page with Registration no. shall be generated.
Candidates are required to take printout of Confirmation page and paste photographs,
put left hand thumb impression, sign in the space earmarked for the purpose and
write down the Residential Address. The confirmation Page is to be sent by Registered/Speed
Post to CBSE and payment can be made as follows:
- by credit card, or
- Demand draft from any scheduled commercial bank.

There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer.
For each incorrect response, one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the
question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be
made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet.
AIEEE Exam Centres:
Selection Procedure:
On the basis of performance in the exam, two separate rank lists are prepared, one
for B.E./B.Tech, and the other for B. Arch/B. Planning. The score card indicates
the All India Rank (AIR) and State rank (SR) with total marks and marks in each
subject obtained by the candidate. Candidates who score above the cut-off marks
are called for counseling for admission to different institutes.
In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks, then merit of such candidates
shall be determined as follows:
- In case of B.E/ B.Tech – By marks obtained in Mathematics and then in Physics in
the AIEEE and then by age (preference is given to older candidates).
- In case of B.Arch/ B.Planning – By marks obtained in Aptitude Test and then in Mathematics
in the AIEEE and then by age (preference is given to older candidates).
