AICE Entrance Exam 2012 - Overview:
All India Competitive Examination or AICE entrance exam
is a national level entrance examination organized annually by the Indian Council
of Agricultural Research for admission to Master’s degree programme in Agriculture,
Veterinary or related science fields. 15% of seats are reserved for the AICE qualified
students in 39 State Agricultural Universities, Central Universities and CAU which
offer the agriculture, veterinary and related science disciplines.
Courses Offered:
Agriculture, Dairy technology, Forestry, Fishery Sciences, Horticulture, Agricultural
Banking & co-operation, Food Science etc.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate must have passed bachelor’s degree in related field to apply for all India
competitive examination. The degree should be completed under the 10+2+4 or 10+2+5
scheme of education. There are very few options for those who finished their bachelor’s
degree under 10+2+3 schemes.
How to Apply?
The application form for the AICE entrance exam can be obtained from office of registrar
of State Agricultural universities or any of the designated Syndicate bank branches
by paying the prescribed amount of application fee. The duly filled application
form should reach the specified address of the ICAR along with necessary documents
of proof.

Exam Pattern
Exam Pattern/ Syllabus:
The ICAR conducts a written test, group discussion and interview. AICE written test
consists of questions of objective type format. The test consists of one question
paper with 150 questions. Out of 150 questions 10 questions are cross matching type.
Four marks are given for each objective type questions and five marks for the cross
matching questions. The exam is of total 650 marks. Questions are asked from the
major subjects selected by the candidates. In the written test each questions have
four choices of answers. One of them is most appropriate answer and the candidates
have to identify it mark it in the OMR answer sheet.
The candidate who clears the written test will have to attend for the group discussion
and for a personal interview. The selection of the candidates for the Masters Degree
Programme is based on their performance in all the three tests.
