AIEEE 2011 Paper Answer Key (All Code Solution) by Aakash Coaching Institute
Q1. Are you satisfied with the All India Engineering Entrance Exam that was held today? Were there any changes in pattern of questions as compared to last year?
Ans. As the question papers were supposedly leaked, the paper was postponed by three hours. However, the paper was quite satisfactory. The examination had no surprises, and the paper followed the same trend as the last time i.e. 30 questions in each subject, a total of 90 questions constituting 360 as maximum marks. Only difference is that this time all questions carried 4 marks, unlike last year where there were 8 marks questions also, apart from 4 marks questions.
Q2. What is the general reaction of students who took the exam today? Did they find it difficult to crack?
Ans. The students who took this exam heaved a sigh of relief as the paper was comparatively easy as compared to last year.
Q3. Were there any printing errors or discrepancies in AIEEE 2011?
Ans. There have been no printing errors reported so far.
Q4. Sir, on the basis of the exam can you predict the overall and subject-wise cut-offs?
Ans. Predicting the overall AIEEE 2011 cut off is very difficult as this stage. However, going by the general response, Physics was difficult while Mathematics and Chemistry were not that difficult. Since the AIEEE is used by many institutes in India for their admissions and for each of the affiliated institutes the cut offs are different. Some newly opened and not so well reputed institutes, as compared to NITs, accept students with relatively lower score. However, indicatively it seems that if a student if targeting top engineering colleges like NITs through AIEEE then a score above 210 (out of 360) should be able to give a rank under 10000. Similarly, a score of 180-185 should keep the candidate under 20000 ranks , a rank of under 40000 should be achieved with a score of 150.
Q5. This year the AIEEE exam was also held in the online format. However, only 4,904 students registered for it. What is the reason behind this lukewarm response?
Ans. India has still a long way to go before it catches up with west on technology front. Due to several technical glitches that several computer adaptive test had in the last year (e. g. CAT), the students were apprehensive about taking the examination online.
Q6. What is the minimum number of questions that a student needs to attempt to get an All India rank under 10,000?
Ans. Out of 90, if a student attempts around 55-60 questions right (with a few negative marks), he/she should be able to score an all India rank under 10000.
Q7. What is the minimum All India rank that one can expect to get admission in top engineering colleges like NITs?
Ans. Most of the students under 8000 rank generally opt for IITs over NITs. Therefore based on students’ preference for a specific engineering stream an AIR of under 20000 should get a seat in any of the good NITs. Having said that, if a student wishes a top opt for a top NIT with most popular engineering streams like Computer Sciences, Electronics, Electrical etc, then he/she should score under AIR 8000.
Q8. Any last message which you would like to give to those students who have failed to do well in AIEEE? What should be their plan of action now?
Ans. Though we admit that there is nothing like failing, a student must realize that it was just a bad day. These words are not meant to console you but to remind you that if you continue to work hard and put in your best, then it really does not matter where you study.
