Introduction

What is it?

Armed Forces Medical College is a premier medical institute of the country acknowledged as a centre of excellence for education and research. Armed forces Medical college (AFMC), Pune was established in 1948 for post graduate courses. AFMC is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik and is recognized by the Medical Council of India.

The college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the Defence Services. The Armed Forces Medical College Entrance Exam was started in AFMC with the aim of inducting medical graduates to the armed Forces Medical Services.

Who can appear :

• The candidate appearing for AFMC examination must be a citizen of India or should be a migrant to India with a definite intention of settling down in India.
• The candidate must be unmarried and must remain single throughout the course.
• The age of the candidate must be between 17 years to 22 years.
• The appearing candidate must also be medically fit as per the standards by Indian government.
• The candidate must have scored a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCB and at-least 50% marks in English in the class 12th examination.
• The candidate must also have scored more than 50% in mathematics examination in class 10th.

Service Liability :

Students have compulsory liability to serve as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services. The offer of the type of commission will depend on the vacancies available. The candidates' parents/guardians are required to sign a bond agreement at the time of admission.

The competitive written examination will be of 2 hours duration and will have on paper comprising of four parts containing objective type of questions as under :
