155 other Non-IIM students also accept CAT Score
There will be a total of 13 IIMs accepting students who crack
CAT this year. A total of 3,000 seats in the various two year programmes at the
thirteen IIMs will be open to the students this year.
The number of non-IIM institutes accepting CAT scores has also increased this year.
"While there were around148 non-IIM institutes accepting CAT scores until last year,
the number this year has gone to more than 155 this years" said Moorthy.
AICTE issued a notification in December 2010 making it compulsory for all management
institutes registered under the council to consider the score of any one of five
national tests - CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA or JMET - in the admission processes. Under the directive
many institutes like Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad (MICA) also chose
to accept CAT scores. IITs will also accept CAT scores this year. CAT-2011
will also be held at three new centres - Bhilai, Dehra Dun and Jammu.
